Berlin travel info
Berlin is known for its alternative lifestyle, modern art, music and other new school stuff. During the summer city seems to explode, many people spend their free time in green parks near rivers and canals of the city.
Berlin hosts many of these parks and little forests in each part of the city. It’s not unusual to see punks playing golf, family making barbecue, and guy with a suite playing a guitar in the same park. In Berlin people tend to not to bother about each other, everyone is enjoying the place in its own way.
If you are planning to hang out in one of the parks during the day don’t forget to grab a couple of bottles of German beer. Germans are known to make good beer and cider. If you really like beer we would recommend finding “Helles Augustiner Bräu” kind.

Kreuzberg
Paul Linke Ufer in Kreuzberg

Kreuzberg is one of the funkiest areas in Berlin. There you will find many cafes, art galleries and night clubs. We would recommend visiting Görlitzer park during the day, it has interesting non working railway station, many people gather there to drink some beer and sit on the grass.

Prenzlauerberg
Side road to Kollwitz Park

Prenzlauerberg is another good area in Berlin. There you’ll find many interesting clothing shops, cozy coofeeshops, bars and restaurants.
Friedrichshain
Warschauer Brücke takes from Kreuzberg to Friedrichshain

Friedrichshain once belonged to east part of Berlin. It is a lovely neighbourhood where you will find many alternative bars and shops.
During summer it is worth to visit Friedrichshain for a meal. It has many outside restaurants offering good food.
We would recommend visiting longest remaining section of the Berlin Wall. Wall has been densely painted by many brilliant street artists, paintings last for over 1 kilometre.
